skin care, hair careMaybe it's because I live in an area where jojoba plants are native, but I've found that the Now Jojoba Oil is fantastic for skin care and hair care. It's something that is produced in Arizona and is amazingly similar chemically to the oil that the human body creates for its skin. I love it for my skin care. It absorbs readily and has no odor. It's an amazing  product. Since it is all natural, there are no side effects for using it for skin care, but it is not for internal use. Jojoba oil is slow to get rancid and it's one of the most affordable of the skin care oils. It is an easy plant to grow and the oils comprise 50% of the seed's weight, so it is quite an abundant producer of this valuable skin care product.

This oil can be used right after a shower on the skin anywhere. We even add it to our shampoo to avoid using conditioners. In 1971 sperm whale oil was outlawed in the US, and shortly thereafter, scientists discovered that jojoba oil performed better in the applications that sperm whale oil was used. The oil is also a good fungicide and it will also kill mildew. Such a versatile oil has a big place in my beauty supplies.

I buy my jojoba oil online where the price is below what I'd have to pay locally. This jojoba oil I get is from Discount Real located at http://www.discountreal.com and this brand has not been tested on animals, either. I buy several bottles at a time because I use it to shave my legs, normally a very drying process, but with jojoba oil, the skin is so soft afterwards. I also use it to remove make up, and of course it can't be beat for hair care.

I read where there is some research going on to see if this oil can be used for biodiesel. It would make a lot of sense to use it for fuel or energy production because of the low costs associated with producing it. Unlike corn, it doesn't require much fertilizer or irrigation and since the plant has a high yield of oil, it would make a lot of sense to encourage more production of jojoba in the southwestern climates where the winters are mild and seldom have killing freezes. All in all, I think that using mother nature's resources for skin care, hair care, and producing energy from the jojoba plant is like finding a crop of unlimited liquid gold.
